🗺🧭 Explore: What do you make of this? What is sticking with you?
As perennials and dual citizens, representing 3 countries, we have a responsibility to keep looking around. We saw the situation at the end of our blocks, asked questions about the municipal goings on, events in the province, countries and planet. At every turn, we found an idea to dig into, turn over, then put into the compost. We used our heads to process, but, as usual, that wasn’t sufficient.
🤔Sense-make: Why is this important? What does this make possible?
Making sense happens in the composting, it seems. Breaking things into elements, nutrients. We check in with our hearts, to see what matters to us, to our communities. But this time, we noticed something new. Using the head and the heart has usually brought us to the hands quite, well, handily. It wasn’t sufficient. We missed the gut. Smacking our foreheads with open palms, we sheepishly asked: How did we miss that? Circle back to our Explore step (yes, things really are bad), then move into Sense-Making, doing a gut-check while feeling the tightness in the chest: Is it helping? Is it hindering?. Why might all this be important to me?
♾️Practice: What do you want more of? Less of? What are you already doing?
At The Perennial Way, our February practices are grounded by our weekly session - Co-working, Connection & Reflection (Fridays, 90min). The rest will bloom when the time is right, season after season.
